Rihga Place Higobashi

My partner and I accidentally left a souvenir in our room, but the staff at Rihga tracked it down and sent it to our next hotel. We were really touched that they took the time to help us out. Righa Royal is in a convenient location, and there’s a delicious ramen place on the corner. We were very happy with our stay and would love to stay at a Rihga Hotel again soon.

The staff at RIHGA Place Higobashi were accommodating throughout our stay, answering questions and helping us out, which we appreciated. Still, traveling with a toddler made a couple of things difficult. The nearest train station has no elevator going straight to the platform, so we had to take a longer route or carry the stroller up and down stairs. The room also felt too warm and humid for a restful night, especially compared with Tokyo. Late October in Osaka is generally cooler, but we couldn’t get the room comfortable. The hotel provided a portable unit, though we weren’t sure whether it was a humidifier or dehumidifier, and it didn’t cool or dehumidify the room enough. Our toddler and we struggled to sleep. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel for families with toddlers. We realized we should have checked more carefully that the climate control and access suited our needs before booking.

The staff were helpful, but this is the first hotel I’ve stayed at where I couldn’t control the room temperature. The AC gets a little stuffy and warm after a while.

The location was good, close to the main avenue and within walking distance, and the hotel was clean. The front desk service was unfriendly and unhelpful. We politely asked for help making a restaurant reservation because they didn’t understand English, and they said it wasn’t their job. Breakfast was horrible, with no variety. The rooms were extremely small, and the pillows felt like they were made of stones. I’ve never had less comfortable pillows. My head and neck hurt for all three days we were there. I don’t recommend this hotel.
