Smile Hotel Osaka Nakanoshima

You can leave your luggage there on check-in and check-out days, and the hotel has a nice view over the Tosahori river. A few train stations are nearby. The internet, though, was absurdly slow, which is why I gave it three stars.

The room was spotless and quiet overnight. It was small, as we expected in Japan, but there was room beneath the bed for our luggage. Getting to the stations takes a bit of a walk, though the riverside route made it pleasant enough for us. I was disappointed that the frosted window meant we couldn't see outside.

The staff didn't seem especially interested in helping guests. The rooms were small, which was what I expected from a Japanese business hotel, but getting to the train stations was awkward since they were quite far away.

We stayed three nights. The room had enough equipment and space for our luggage under the bed, though it was a little small. It wasn't cleaned during our stay because we were there fewer than four nights, which was fine with me. Breakfast was okay, but having the same menu each day got a bit boring. For the price, it wasn't bad if you're in the area for business. The hotel is on the Keihan line near Watanabe bridge station. Higobashi station on the Yotsubashi line is a bit of a walk, though there's easy access through the building next door. I was disappointed by the staff member working when I arrived. He didn't greet or welcome me, and I felt like I was interrupting his work during a busy morning. I hadn't experienced that in a while. The other staff were fine, and I was happy with the business overall, but it left me wondering if the hotel has a staff training problem.
