Takeyaso is a traditional-style Japanese Inn built in the late 1920's. Though renewed for modern amenities it still retains the comfortable and charm of home. A two minute walk through the alley from the train station you will see the Ryokan located in a quiet residential area. Takeyaso has convenient access to sight seeing spots such as Osaka Kobe Kyoto as well as Nara all within one hour by train.

The inn felt like a lovely step back in time, with beautiful hardwood floors, clean tatami rooms, baths, and a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spotless and bigger than some modern hotel rooms. We could even lay out our suitcase, which hasn't been possible for us elsewhere. Jazz played in the evening, and there was a little spot to have tea and chat with other guests before bed. It was such a peaceful change from busy Osaka. The owners took wonderful care of us from the moment we arrived. One of the hosts saw how hot we were and brought us cold tea. I'm grateful too for the parting gifts from the owner. We hope to come back soon and will recommend the place to friends.

The beds were uncomfortable, the location was poor, and the listing photos didn't fairly show the rooms or hotel. It was a very run-down place presented as a Ryokan, more like a shabby hostel. Smoking is allowed inside, so the common areas and rooms smell of smoke. Guests have to leave their rooms between 10 and 1600, and aren't allowed to take the room key. We left after one night and asked for a refund, but were refused.

Kyoko was a wonderful host at this fantastic ryokan. I loved staying here and getting a feel for traditional Japan. You'll love it too!

I loved the old Japanese home style and found the place very tidy. I'd booked six nights but, unfortunately, a personal issue meant I could only stay one. Highly recommended.

I was trying to arrange the Waso Experience, and the way they handled it was seriously irresponsible. They said there were slots on the 10th of April and confirmed me. Then, when I followed up with other questions, they suddenly said I had no booking because someone else had taken the slot while I was asking about available dates. Why confirm me in the first place? If I hadn't asked for more details, I wouldn't even have found out I had no booking. They really disappointed me.
