Tennoji Lagoon Hotel

The room felt more like a cozy Japanese apartment than a hotel, with the bathroom set apart from the sleeping area. It was surprisingly spacious too, so our open suitcases stayed out of the way. There was even a standalone radio, which you don’t see much these days, and it sounded excellent. We stayed four nights in mid-February 2023 and got good value for what we paid. The building and small, dim front desk looked pretty ordinary, but the reception staff were friendly, helpful, and comfortable speaking with foreign travelers. They remembered my room number every time, so I never had to give it to them. Housekeeping also did a good job. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Tennoji station, just as Google Maps showed. We’ll definitely return when we visit Osaka again.
