The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Osaka Midosuji

The lounge upgrade was worth it for us. It had hot and cold Japanese and Western dishes, evening cocktails, and stunning views from the 25th floor. Everything at the hotel felt clean and modern, with great views and attentive service. The food and drinks there made our stay feel luxurious. We were amazed by the sculptures right outside: a Botero, then a Rodin, and further down the street, Henry Moore, Renoir, and many more famous artists. In other countries, works like these are kept under lock and key, but here in Osaka we could enjoy them while sipping coffee next door. The hotel is well placed between Dotonbori and Osaka Castle, if you don't mind a 35-40 minute walk, and the walk itself is nice. We absolutely loved staying here and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the hotel was in great shape throughout our four-night stay. It's only a few minutes' walk from two metro stations. The place feels upscale, right down to the luxurious elevators. Our room was spacious enough, with a huge shower and top-of-the-line bathroom. Breakfast had a wide selection and was great. We had a wonderful time.

The shower room was really good, and there's a self-service laundry on every floor, though we didn't find it until our last day. The hotel is conveniently between two train stations, with convenience stores and a supermarket nearby. Our room was on the small side, and even one person didn't have much space getting in and out of bed. There were tea and coffee facilities but no black tea, and only one USB outlet for charging. The TV had just two English stations, and the programming was dubbed in another language. It would've been nice to have something else in English.

The main street is clean and lovely, with train stations within walking distance so it's easy to get around. A 7-11 is just a few steps away, and there's a nice market nearby. We liked the location a lot. The hotel also has all-in-one washer-dryer units. I'd put it at about 4.5 stars, and we'd definitely consider staying here again if we return to Osaka.
