The public baths were the highlight of my three-night stay. They're open all night, and the cold bath was a good size, comfortably fitting four people. I love a cold bath, and most places don't have one. The attached dry sauna is large and hot, with the thermostat showing 100 degrees Celsius, and a big 12-minute timer to keep track of time. It closes at 2 am and opens again at 6 am. Mornings were the quietest time for a bath, when people were at breakfast, preparing for USJ, or checking out. Late evening was the noisiest, with loud Mandarin-speaking guests socializing. The rooms had plenty of room to relax, the beds were comfortable, and service was good. Breakfast was the weakest part. It looked four-star, but had options more like three-star and value around 2.5 stars, though the food quality was still there. There were plenty of carbs, but not enough value in the meat and protein. I might skip it next time, though it's still a good way to fill up before lining up at USJ for opening, especially since food there is even less economical. Still a great experience, and I'll be back.

We chose this hotel for its location near USJ, so we could sleep in, return for an afternoon nap, and use the hot spring on the top floor. But our final day of a three-night stay was awful. At around 07:30, I told reception we'd need the room from 12-15 to rest and asked if cleaning could happen before 12 or after 3pm. The staff agreed, and I left. When I returned at 12:30, the room hadn't been cleaned. At 14:00, a cleaner tried our door, then knocked heavily and woke me twice. I explained we'd told reception about the cleaning time and needed the room. She left, but came back ten minutes later with another staff member and woke me a third time, saying they couldn't clean after 3. We thought there'd been a misunderstanding, and I asked them not to return. Then reception called and disturbed me for a fourth time. I requested water and towels, and later had to deal with the garbage myself. Our midday rest was completely ruined. Reception seemed not to know the cleaning hours or warn guests. They kept saying cleaning after 3 wasn't possible, but then it should have been done before 12. Being disturbed so many times in 20 minutes over a simple request was deeply unpleasant and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend staying here because of the poor service and major language barrier.

The breakfast buffet has a good range of food to get you fueled for a day at USJ. The hotel is right by Universal City train station and Universal Studios, and I'd definitely stay again for another action-packed park trip. 🤟🏾

The staff were VERY friendly. We arrived before check-in and left our bags with them. When we came back hours later, they'd put the luggage in our room free of charge. It might seem like a small thing, but after walking around Osaka for 10 hours, it was a nice touch. Our two-person room was just the right size, with a couch and sitting area by the window where we could leave our luggage open and get to it easily. The bed was good and big. It's not the cheapest place, but for somewhere this close to Universal, I can't complain. The metro is right outside the front door, along with two Lawsons, a 7/24, and lots of restaurants and shops. If you're going to Universal and want a comfy, relatively cheap place to return to, this is it, IMO. There's a rooftop onsen too, just remember tattoos need to be covered. Yes, our room was messy, sue me.

The shared spa was a welcome surprise, and relaxing after a long, cold day. The facility was very clean, and the staff were friendly. Our room was more spacious than I'd expected. The location is amazingly convenient, connected to the Universal-City station exit, with no stairs to go up or down. That made checking in and out with luggage easy. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Universal Studios Japan.
