I never planned to stay overnight in Sakai. I'd come to try the burgers at Vegan burg kitchen, but it happened to be closed that day. I decided to spend the night and try the burgers the next day, booking whatever hostel I could find. That random choice turned out to be the most amazing hostel I've ever stayed in. It was spotless and super cozy, and I could wash my clothes, which was a relief. The owner was kind and gave me helpful recommendations for nearby onsens, or Japanese hot springs. After a much-needed shower I went straight to bed. The mattress was very firm, just how I like it, and I slept like a baby. I'd stay again without a doubt!

This is a really nice inn. I happened to be the only guest staying overnight, but they were happy to have me. The owner was very kind. If you're traveling solo or with two or three others, this place is a good choice.

Ever pictured a room that's compact but cleverly laid out? That's the feel here. It creates a slightly mysterious, out-of-the-ordinary experience, and might be fun to try for yourself.
