Sanrriott Kitahama

For the price and location, this was a good hotel. It was the cheapest of the places we stayed, though not our favorite. The room was clean and had good amenities. We weren't used to beds placed on the floor, and it took a bit to get comfortable with the shower room. The bathroom sink gave us trouble too, with a loose faucet and weak water pressure. There was also a karaoke machine we couldn't figure out how to switch off. Instructions for it would've helped.

The room had all the amenities we needed for an easy, comfortable stay. It was cozy and had a warm, welcoming feel that made me feel at home. I had a wonderful time here.

There wasn't any cleaning during my stay, and the place was horrible. Calling this a hotel feels wrong, it's a motel. My room smelled terribly musty, like pee and mold, and there was dust and spiderwebs in the corners. The tatami beds were so thin that I woke up aching all over, as if I'd slept on the hard floor, and I got a rush on my body from them. The elevator was old and creepy. The area felt kind of sketchy, with graffiti, and wasn't close to the main attractions. There's no real lobby, just a little window to the attendant, an old couch, and nasty red curtains hiding who knows what.

There are plenty of things to do nearby, and I had a great time walking around the neighborhood. I came across some awesome bars and met amazing people, so I'll definitely stay here again. The hotel itself is charming, with really nice staff, spacious rooms, and very comfortable beds. There are just two rooms per floor, so you don't have a long hallway to walk down.
