The Wonder At Stay -bentencho-

The entrance may be awkward if you’re bringing large luggage, since the hotel is next to the apartment building. Also, there aren’t many restaurants nearby, so for Osaka food you’ll need to shop at a supermarket or eat in the city center. I stayed at the end of Golden Week for the Expo. Bentencho Station was an easy walk away, and being on the Osaka Metro made getting into the city simple. It worked really well for sightseeing around the Expo.

The room was good value, spacious, and had high ceilings that made it feel open. The shower pressure was good and the air conditioning worked well. But the place wasn’t clean. There were used tissues on the floor, grime under the toilet seat, and the washing machine was dirty with spills and stains, with its lint filter overflowing. The refrigerator hadn’t been defrosted, leaving a 5cm-thick block of frost. The water filter battery was dead, so it was hard to tell when the cartridge needed replacing, and it probably hadn’t been changed. The disinfectant spray was empty too. Check-in starts at 5 PM, later than at other places.

We stayed two nights as a family. It looked clean at first, but there was some dust and dirt in the room corners and toilet. They answered our questions within 24 hours, so no issues there. The service was quick and perfect! I’d have liked more cleaning supplies, like lint rollers and paper towels for people who like them. Some reviews mentioned coffee sticks, but there weren’t any during our stay. Maybe it depends on the day?

We needed somewhere affordable to rest on the way from Kanagawa to Universal Studios Japan, and this place had parking. It’s close to Universal Studios and has 24-hour check-in. The room was clean, the facilities were excellent, and it even had coffee sticks. There’s a washing machine with detergent and lots of hangers. With four double beds, it can sleep up to eight people. Fantastic.
