ViaInn Shin Osaka

The staff really came through when a few things went wrong with our travel plans. They handled it professionally, and the location also makes getting around Osaka easy. Five stars from me.

The rooms are clean and practical, though fairly compact. Being so close to Shin Osaka station suited me well, and there’s a 7/11 in the building with a direct entrance into the hotel if you have a key card. Very handy.

We stayed in a standard single room, which had a pot, tea cup, refrigerator, three hangers and deodorizing spray. You can pick up the amenities you need from the front desk on the first floor. Nothing especially fancy, but it has the basics for a business trip or a holiday, and my room was comfortable. The biggest plus is the location. Via Inn Shin-Osaka is about a three-minute walk from the east exit of Shin-Osaka Station, so it’s easy to reach after arriving by Shinkansen. There are Family Mart stores nearby, and the station has plenty of places to eat. Keep in mind that many of those restaurants close around 10 pm, so late-night food may be harder to find. Breakfast is available on the first floor for an extra 880 yen, with a mix of Japanese and Western dishes. For getting around from the station, this was a convenient place to stay.

I had a quiet, comfortable stay, and the room felt spacious for one person. It’s close to Shin-Osaka station. Self-service check-in and check-out are available, with staff on hand if you need help. I’d recommend it.
