Hotel Furukawa Hills

The breakfast was a highlight for me: the scrambled eggs were still a little soft and so good. There was bread and other food too, though I didn’t take a photo. I stayed here for the first stretch of my five-night, six-day Japan trip, and the staff made it easy even with my rusty Japanese. I’d forgotten most of what I learned in high school, so I relied on anime and drama phrases and a translator. They did their best to understand me and made me feel comfortable. It’s about a 10-minute walk, and Osaki Station is only a few minutes away. The countryside also felt so clean, with none of the illegal parking or littering you might expect. One evening I couldn’t find a place I was going for drinks, but a passerby kindly helped me. That made my Miyagi trip memorable. If you’re Korean and traveling in Miyagi, I’d recommend staying here. I’m 58,000% ready to come back, even if I’m probably not the only Korean visiting Osaki, lol.

I had a good stay and would definitely come back. The room was nice, the amenities were excellent, and I enjoyed the breakfast, even though there wasn’t a huge selection. I picked this hotel for its free manga rentals and was very pleased to find a bigger selection than at its sister property across the street, Hotel Crown Hills Furukawa. The tricky part was finding the parking. It’s first-come, first-served, and if it’s full there’s a nearby paid lot. There is a sign at the entrance behind the hotel, but it could be more visible. First-time guests may get lost. I spent a whole week figuring out where to park, lol.

Breakfast was included, with a limited selection, and there were plenty of amenities. For a one-night work stay, this older business hotel felt like good value. It was quiet and clean.

There’s an izakaya nearby, so it works well for an overnight stay. The hotel itself is old-fashioned, with free parking on a gravel lot that isn’t bumpy. They offer chuhai and highballs, limited to two drinks per person, plus self-serve coffee and tea. Breakfast comes with the stay. The choices are limited, but enough.
