The Phat Packers - Hostel

The hosts made everything easy from the start. They picked me up at the bus station, handled all the details during my stay, and even drove me out early on departure day. That warm, generous hospitality made Phat Packers feel like a real base for ski trips. I spent five nights here and didn't want to leave. Four nights were in an 8-bed dorm with other skiers and snowboarders. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and warm after long powder days, with good luggage space, and it was easy to meet people from around the world as a solo traveler. For my last night I moved to a king room with shared showers, which was clean and cozy. There was free breakfast each morning, plus free daily shuttles to and from one of the Hakuba Valley resorts. They made ski days much less stressful. Can't recommend Phat Packers enough.

The shuttle made getting between transport, town, and the resorts really easy, which matters a lot on a ski trip. Everything was well organized, and the place has a great vibe. It works well for families, and I can see younger travelers enjoying it too. I had an awesome time staying here with our son Tommy. Thanks to the team for looking after us and making this such a good place to stay. We've had another fantastic visit.

We had everything we needed for a comfortable Hakuba stay, and the place was super accommodating. The rooms were very clean, breakfast and free shuttles were included, and the atmosphere was great. Tsugaike's lift is just a 3 min walk away, with plenty of food nearby and great people to hang out with after boarding. We booked five nights and wished we'd stayed longer. Big thanks to Cam, Ryan, Declan, Angus, Mia, Paul and the rest of the staff. We'll definitely be back next year.

We stopped in for dinner and drinks and had a great time. The bar had exactly the atmosphere we were looking for, and the kids could head downstairs to play pool. Cam and the staff were attentive, fun, and gave excellent service. We heard the backpacker accommodation is excellent too. If you're in Hakuba and want a fun night out with friends or family, we can highly recommend Phat Packers. Thanks, Cam and staff.
