We came away from our three-night stay feeling refreshed and grateful, already thinking about a return. The private in-room onsen, with its natural hot spring water and serene view, was pure bliss and brought together comfort, tradition, and luxury. Meals were another highlight: carefully prepared seasonal Japanese dishes, beautifully presented. Every staff member was kind, attentive, and professional, and we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The ryokan had clearly taken care with every detail, making it easy to relax. It really captures Japanese hospitality and makes for an authentic, unforgettable getaway. Highly recommended. Thank you, Kanekichi Ittoan.

We booked three days with breakfast and dinner, and none of the meals were repeated. Everything was delicious and better than we expected. The outdoor private onsen was lovely, and there was no extra charge to use it. The staff were very hospitable. Definitely recommend it.

The stay was a highlight of our trip. We found it very affordable, and the rooms were beautiful. The onsen was great, especially being able to book a private one.

It’s an easy walk to the beach and train station, and a lift can be arranged too. The team made us feel warmly welcomed, and the room was spacious, clean, and nice. I really enjoyed the onsen, but the dinner and breakfast were the highlight for me, the best kaiseki cuisine I’ve had. Highly recommended!

We booked a night in late February 2025 hoping to see the Kawazu Zakura, but they hadn’t bloomed early that year. The trip was still well worth it. The staff were friendly and even drove us to Kawazu to try to catch some of the Sakura Matsuri along the river. They also offered a lift to the train station, though it’s only a four-minute walk away. I enjoyed choosing a yukata. The rooms feel a little older but are well maintained, and the rotenburo is stunning, though it’s quite a walk from the main building, something to keep in mind when it’s cold. The meals were tasty and locally sourced. I’d stay here again.
