Mr.KINJO in HAIBISU NISHIMACHI

I was in a triple room. The building and room seemed fairly new, but the cleanliness was awful. There was old rubbish under the TV, and stains on the chair, bed, wallpaper, and odd stool beside the TV. The sheets felt rough and were covered in lint. The bedroom air conditioner smelled so musty that I couldn't use it. The floor had a strange slope, the freezer was damp with condensation, and the TV wouldn't pick up terrestrial channels. The hairdryer had a broken, missing vent and barely blew air. I also found the parking setup confusing. It's probably fine if all you need is somewhere cheap to sleep.

My seventh-floor room looked clean at first, but there were tiny ants in the bathroom dressing area and by the bed, which was annoying. Turning on the toilet exhaust fan made the room smell strongly of sewage. Maybe I could have tolerated it by leaving the fan off. The walk to Kokusai Street is about 20 minutes, and the foreign front desk staff were there. The price is reasonable, so I suppose I can put up with a few things.

There are plenty of parking options nearby, and I found one with a maximum fee, so parking didn't cost much. Restaurants around the station are plentiful too, and Kokusai Street is walkable if you don't mind a 20-25 minute trek. The room itself was small, making it hard to open my suitcase, but the very low price made that easier to accept. It was new and clean, though I did spot a few little ants. The toilet and bath are separate, but share one door, with another door between the toilet and bathroom, so someone using the bath could make the toilet inaccessible. There were outlets by the bed, but no USB ports.

The main thing I'd like is official information before arrival. During my stay I learned, among other things, the rules and time limits for towel changes on longer bookings, how to have trash collected and which bags to use, that the coin laundry is at another hotel, and how parking reservations work. Some details can be pieced together from scattered reviews, but plenty came as a surprise when staff explained them on site. If you can get a low rate, I think the stay is worth the cost. The place is advertised as Mr. Kinjo, and you get what that means once you're there, though a lot of the practical details only become clear after checking in.
