Getting around Otaru was easy from here: Otaru Station is a 7-8 minute walk, with arcade streets along the way so only some stretches need an umbrella in rain or snow. The City Hall Street bus stop, for buses from Sapporo, is about five minutes away. Sushiya Street and the Sakaimachi Street Shopping Arcade are nearby, and it was easy to pop back to the room with souvenirs or after walking. There’s a convenience store right close by too. I came for sightseeing in late November and had a great time, helped by this lovely room. It was spacious, new, clean throughout, and very comfortable. The bathroom, kitchen and toilet were all thoroughly cleaned. The large TV, sofa and table were in excellent shape, and the double bed was so comfortable it felt almost like a hotel. The kitchen has a large fridge, microwave, kettle, rice cooker, toaster, coffee maker and tableware, so cooking for yourself seems possible. There’s air conditioning and heating in each room. Even though it was snowing and very cold outside, the double-glazed windows seemed to keep the outside air out, and I only needed the heater morning and evening. My room was on a lower floor, but there was no noise from above or outdoors, and I slept soundly. Thanks to the host for a wonderful stay. I’d like to use the service again soon.
