The rooms are nice and quite large, and the location is good. There aren't many places to hang wet towels or clothes to dry. Check-in was the worst part: the iPad and human verification system were terrible and need work. Even putting a heater in the foyer would help. Bring an extra bag of patience for check-in.

The neighborhood is hilly and good for hiking, and I liked walking around. Lawson is about a five-minute walk away, and Laundry Coins is around ten minutes away. Given the location, renting a car is a good idea. I had to push my grandma in a wheelchair during the first few days, which turned into a funny but challenging adventure, with a bit of a heart attack thrown in. We stayed 12 days with four others in a spacious, cozy, modern room with four queen beds. It was neat, though we could hear a lot of noise from upstairs, and there was no washing machine in our room. Parking was difficult when other guests parked inconsiderately. Some parking lines or a note might help, since the map on the iPad at reception was misleading. We ended up on the opposite side of Soubou, and the store owner there was upset. The location seems better suited to fit people. Even with a few minor issues, we had a lovely stay.

For the price, the accommodation and its facilities are unbelievably good. The room was very clean, and I didn't see any bugs during my stay. I could hear rain quite clearly, so the soundproofing may not be great, although noise from other rooms didn't bother me. Check-in can be quite difficult for foreigners, but the price and facilities more than make up for that.

I was able to explore freely and had no trouble without meals, since there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The stone storehouses are used as monuments, preserving a feel of Otaru's history without spoiling the scenery. I also loved the atmospheric, beautiful townscape. I stayed for a business trip and workation, and the villa-like setting made for a calm, relaxing place to spend time. I'll definitely return.

Getting around was easy, with Otaru's tourist spots within walking distance. The historic storehouse-style building made a strong impression, and my room was clean and well equipped. Check-in and check-out were contactless, which made the stay feel relaxed. I'd recommend this inn to anyone who wants to unwind without meeting others, and I'd stay again if I get the chance.
