If you're riding around Lake Biwa by bike, I'd really recommend staying here and getting both meals. The food was delicious, the price was reasonable, and the surroundings were beautiful. Glad I got to stay.

We felt really welcome, and the service was very good. The lake view is excellent, with comfortable seating in the room and even a massage chair facing the water. Have some tea and it's a peaceful way to start the morning. The free private onsen are well worth using, especially when it's cooler. They're calm, with a garden-like view, and the cool earthy air meets the warmth of the bath. Highly recommend.

It's about a six-minute walk from the train station. There are several different onsens, including a family one you can reserve for private use. It's partly outdoors, which made for a really nice experience.

The food was good, and the hotel was peaceful. We cycled there and could leave our bikes in a storage room. I've stayed at many hotels in Japan, and this was one of the best. The staff didn't speak English, but they did their best to help us and the service was excellent. If we return to Biwako, we'll stay here again.
