The staff were fantastic throughout. I saw them at reception, dinner, and breakfast, and they handled all of it like an army team. Some even offered a complimentary ride to the train station when needed. Dinner was splendid, with delicious, well-prepared meals, and breakfast was great too. The chef made a Japanese breakfast that was easy to enjoy, oishii desu 🥰. Service was excellent the whole stay 😍 The hotel itself is a peaceful retreat, with a quiet, subdued bar. The rooms are spacious, set up like a two-story, one-room house or studio, and big enough for a family of four. But the bathroom and toilet are downstairs, so you have to go down and back up to reach the bedroom. The stairs are steep, which could be awkward with small children and doesn't work well for people with mobility issues, especially wheelchair users. It's an old house that's been renovated into a hotel. There's no TV in the room, so you can enjoy the quiet instead. I booked a room package with dinner and was glad I splurged. I'd read good reviews and watched YouTube videos before trying this castle town hotel, and I'd say it's worth a visit. Come into town early to take in the scenery around the area. I'll write a separate review about that.

The food was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and the service was excellent from beginning to end. NIPPONIA has turned restored historic houses into distinctive boutique hotel spaces in the heart of Ozu. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and the facilities made the price feel reasonable. I slept soundly all night. It was a memorable stay, and I'd recommend booking dinner and breakfast too if you're visiting Ozu.

The neighborhood has little shops and businesses making things, along with a beautiful local shrine. Spectacular Izumi shrine is about ten minutes away. I had a lovely visit. This is one of the most elegant places I've stayed: the service was impeccable, the meals explored Japanese country cooking, and the sake selection was extraordinary. A graceful treat.

A big, nice hotel. The drinks in the fridge are included in the price, and the members' lounge has free alcohol, coffee, and nuts. Wi-Fi password is on the key. Very good overall.

The staff were incredible and went out of their way to help me several times. I loved the old buildings and the bath was awesome. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the location made a good base for exploring other parts of Shikoku. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. Breakfast was very traditional and sometimes had strong flavors, so it might not suit everyone. The beds were a little hard, but that wasn't a problem for me.
