The Still Hotel

The hotel is new, the room was clean, and breakfast was included, which is great for the price. It was a classic Japanese breakfast, though I would’ve liked more international options, maybe muesli, fruit, or raw salmon. I’d have given it five stars, but some Japanese guests with their kids were noisy on the floor until 2 AM, and we had a rough night. Apart from that, I can recommend staying here.

Since the hotel had only just opened, there wasn’t much information available when I booked. It’s nice that everything feels clean and new. There are parking spaces right in front as well as second and third lots farther away. I wanted a spot at the front, but those seem to be in high demand. It was raining, so I unloaded our bags first, but there wasn’t enough roof to keep us dry and the layout didn’t let me pull the car right up, which was a bit inconvenient. I also heard showers and plumbing from other rooms, something I haven’t noticed much at other Japanese business hotels. It wasn’t loud enough to keep me from sleeping. Our stay included breakfast as an opening offer. There was a decent variety, and it was enough for a complimentary breakfast.

Everything feels brand new, and the rooms are spacious. Breakfast was delicious, too. The hotel is right by Higo-Ozu Station and also close to the airport. There’s a free airport shuttle in front of the station, so make use of it. At the moment, booking as a member through the official website gives the lowest price, with breakfast included. I was here on business and enjoyed it so much that I definitely want to return with my family. Have a look at the photos I uploaded.

On the morning of May 29th, a man at the restaurant served my husband. I forgot to ask his name, but his service was outstanding. My mother and I had never experienced such attentive service. When I misplaced the lid for my curry pot, he came right over to hold it for me. Later, when our toddler wanted pictures and we started taking selfies, he offered to help take the photos. His thoughtfulness really touched us. I feel so happy and fulfilled working in service. Even after we got home, I kept thinking about how he treated us, and wanted to leave a message to properly thank him.
