The food was what made this stay stand out for me. Breakfast and dinner were kaiseki-style and focused on authentic Rishiri cooking, with delicious sashimi, rich uni, and buttery cod milt. Don't come expecting Belgian waffles and bacon. I was extremely happy with the meals, and no other hotel on my Japan trip served food this good. The large public bath was a lovely way to begin the day, and I hardly used the shower in our room. The location worked well too, with the ferry terminal easy to reach and Cape Peshi a short walk away. This was my first stop in Japan, and only after moving on did I realize how lucky I was to stay here. I really hope I can come back.

We had a spacious room that was a lovely place to relax, with wonderful views of the harbor and Rishirifuji. There are nice hikes and walks close by, and the island's best Izakaya is nearby too. The breakfast was excellent, the small onsen was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They also run a shuttle from the airport or harbor, which is only a couple of hundred meters away. A great place to stay.

The onsen is here, and it's just a two-minute walk from the entrance to a hiking trail. The ferry port is nearby too.
