I’ve got really good memories of staying here. If I get the chance, I’d like to come back.

It takes me back to summer holidays in the countryside when I was a kid. The area around the house is all beautiful mountains and water, and Grandma’s handmade 100% buckwheat soba restaurant is just a short walk away. The closest convenience store is about a five-minute drive, and there’s a hot spring less than a five-minute walk from the house. I stayed in August and September 2023. For better or worse, it feels like staying at a caring relative’s country home. The host even grills trout he’s caught with guests over charcoal, and takes us to a spring that feels like paradise in the scorching heat. This place is best for people who enjoy spending time with others, rather than fussy eaters. It’s a relative’s house in the countryside, so the bathroom is small. There’s just one toilet on the first floor, but it has a washlet. The room has air conditioning and a small refrigerator, though the refrigerator was a little dirty. The room doesn’t lock. The first-floor kitchen is free to use. In summer, insects come in when the lights are on.
