SADO Futatsugame View Hotel

The staff were so polite and kind that we'd feel comfortable recommending this place to tour guests. The hotel sits right above Futatsugame in northern Sado, looking out toward Ōnogame. You can stay in bungalow-style rooms and opt for a barbecue, while breakfast is served in the main building's dining area. There's a hot spring facility right across from the hotel that guests can use for free. On a clear night, the sky is full of stars.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but its location is beautiful and the view is incredibly beautiful.

Dinner and the coastal scenery made the stay worthwhile. It's a fairly isolated hotel, though that seclusion has its appeal, and the northern coast of Sado looks beautiful. The location is near Futatsugame, about 34 km or a 40-45 minute drive from Sado Ryotsu Port Terminal. The room is spacious by Japanese standards, with an ocean-facing little balcony, a shower room, and a small tub. The toilet is separate. On clear days, the view from the balcony is lovely. The public bath has an onsen style, but isn't a natural hot spring. There's a small souvenir shop and a few vending machines for drinks, plus two wooden houses for rent if you want a different kind of stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. A campsite is just below the hotel, and it's nice to walk down to the beach near Futatsugame in the morning. The waves can get strong, so be careful and avoid playing in the water.
