Apa Hotel Saga-Ekimae-Chuou

The biggest plus is how close it is to the rail lines, which makes getting around easy. The room is fairly big, clean, and has all the basics. The shower can get really hot, and there are some pretty adult things on the TV, so not for watching with kids. The staff weren't especially helpful, though everything was simple and straightforward.

For a short trip, I'd stay here again. It's handy for the train and bus station, with plenty of good restaurants nearby. The staff are very nice, and there are three coin laundry machines plus three dryers, so I hardly had to wait. I was here for a week, though, and wouldn't recommend it for a long stay if you're a light sleeper. Whenever someone in a nearby room came or went, their door slammed shut. The doors don't close softly, and trying to stop the noise yourself barely helps.

Being so close to saga station makes this a relaxing, enjoyable hotel, and you can take in the view. The staff were considerate, especially toward us as tourists.

The location is great, just a couple of blocks from the station, and breakfast was good. The staff were nice, and the hotel was clean and quiet. The bathroom floor was level with the room. In the small room, there was no storage under the bed, but I could lay my open suitcase between the bed's foot and the window. My clothes there were always cold. The window seal let in a slight freezing draft. The blackout curtains kept out most of the cold, but the heater only warmed about two thirds of the room, leaving the part by the window chilly. The TV is large, but bolted tightly into a corner, making its HDMI port almost impossible to reach.
