After a tiring trip, I was glad to find a bottle of water on the table, especially since I wasn't yet sure whether tap water was safe to drink. The bathroom faucet marked "drinking water" was a thoughtful touch too. At another hotel I'd stayed in, the water was very high in chlorine and there was no guidance about whether it was drinkable. The room lighting and atmosphere were pleasant, and the staff were kind and helpful. Someone helped me open the window, thank you. There was also a little more room for jackets than in a similar smoking room at another hotel, so I had to play less tetris with my things. The smoke removal works really well. When I walked in, I barely noticed it was a smoking room, unlike the much stronger smell at the other hotel. Those small details made for a more comfortable arrival and stay.

For a very affordable place, the rooms and amenities are nice, and the cleaning and hotel staff are great. It's close to the train station, food, shopping and more. Recommended.

The price made the extra travel worthwhile for me, since the hotel is a little far from everything. The staff were dependable and very helpful. I speak very little Japanese, but they were still able to accommodate me somewhat. There's a MiniShop attached, which is handy if you want a quick bite without heading down the street.

The room was good, and the hotel is near the station. There are also lots of parking areas around it.

The room size is decent for the price, and the staff service was good. Still, the temperature controls are frustrating: the hotel sets the system centrally, so you can't switch between AC and heat yourself. The smoking floors and elevator smell of smoke. There's only one comforter; I had to ask for a sheet, and room service took it away the next day. Every room also has revisionist history textbooks, including the claim that "actually, there was no Nanjing Massacre".
