Hotel Collect

The Japanese breakfast set turned out to be more than enough, though the pancakes were a letdown. There were other choices too, including toast and curry. The dining room was often full, which was a little reassuring since I’d wondered if anyone else was staying there. I was in Kawachinagano for work over the November three-day weekend, and after searching online I finally found a booking. When I arrived in the evening, there were no parking spaces at all, so I went to the front desk feeling anxious. The receptionist was very kind and said to let them know if I’d be coming back late because the doors are locked at 10 pm. The room was cleaner than I expected, including the toilet and shower, which looked like they may have been replaced recently. The mattress had just the right firmness, and I was satisfied. I’d stay here again if I get the chance.

It’s clean and quiet despite being close to the road. The twin room had a bidet toilet, and parking is free. There aren’t any convenience stores within walking distance, so a car is handy. I’d use it again.

We came here because my grandmother, who lived in Tondabayashi, died suddenly and my mother and I needed somewhere to stay for the funeral. There weren’t any hotels nearby. Our twin room was clean and perfectly fine for sleeping overnight. The staff were very friendly and helped with taxis and other arrangements. At breakfast we could choose from five options. We had the Japanese meal and curry, and both were delicious. The location and access to other facilities aren’t ideal, but for frequent business trips to the countryside, as we had this time, I think it’s very convenient.

The breakfast staff were especially polite and welcoming. They even offered to point me toward places to visit, which helped me feel at ease, and there were enough choices to have something different each day. The room and the business hotel itself were very clean, despite my initial nerves after reading other reviews. Apparently guests wanting a smoking room are sent to the hotel next door, while this one has a smoking area near reception. I rated it four stars for two reasons. The streets around the hotel were very dark, and going out at night seemed difficult for women. There are restaurants nearby, but getting to them means walking along that sort of road. Also, the toilet had no bidet. Otherwise, it was a very good stay, and I’d come back if I’m in the area.
