Minshuku New Echizen

I booked this hotel at the last minute and would definitely use it again. The bathrooms and toilets seemed a little old, but not as bad as the reviews made them sound. It appears to be run by a couple, and their service was excellent. Everything at breakfast tasted good, especially the white rice, which was better than at other hotels and restaurants.

The price was ridiculously high, and I won't stay there again. When I visited during Golden Week two years ago, the futon was flat and the sheets were dirty. The walls between rooms were thin enough that I could hear everything next door, and the guests stayed noisy late into the night, so I barely slept. The food was terrible too, as if they cared only about serving a lot.

Amazing prices! No fridge at all, just a styrofoam box instead!

A good option for a cheap trip, though getting around by public transport isn't very convenient.
