The owner needs to respect privacy. He came into my room and moved my things without asking. On checkout day, he entered before I gave permission and tried to pick up the bed while I was getting ready. It was only 9:30, and we weren't late. The mattress is so thin that it feels like you're nearly sleeping on the wooden floor. The 21.30 check-in cutoff is also strict. We wanted to arrive at 23.30, but he said he wouldn't let us in after 21.30. That cost us about an hour getting checked in and back to the tourist areas. I also needed an invoice, but the owner ignored more than 10 messages from me and Booking.com. After the stay I tried contacting him at different times and in different ways, but got no reply, even while he was answering new bookings. Stay away.

Getting an invoice after our stay was impossible. We sent over 10 messages and calls through both us and Booking.com, but the owner didn't respond, even though he kept replying to new booking requests. He also came into the room and moved our belongings without asking. On checkout day, he entered before we gave permission and tried to take the bed while we were still packing. Guests' privacy needs to be respected. I'd avoid this place.

At midnight I had nowhere to go. The owner got angry on the phone, said I'd taken too long to get there, and refused to let me check in. I'd rushed straight from the plane to customs without even using the restroom, waited in a very long line, and kept updating him on where I was. When I finally used Google Maps to find the guesthouse, the location was wrong and it wasn't even on the same street. There was a rule against checking in after 9 PM, so I'd written in my booking that I wouldn't reach the airport until 8:40 PM and would need until at least 11 PM to arrive. The owner agreed to wait. I've visited Japan many times and haven't encountered such a shameless business owner, especially one who's Chinese. Stay away if you don't want this kind of aggravation.

They won't refund you if you decide not to stay, and their attitude is really bad. They also said guests can't leave after 9:30 pm, which I believe violates Japan's Minpaku laws and the Japanese Constitution.

The place was clean and well cared for. My host waited for me even though I checked in late, then kindly explained the room and how to use everything.
