Oimatsuen

A peaceful place, with staff who have a real service-minded attitude.

This was my first stay since the hotel became BBH, though I'd been here three times before. The room showed its age but was clean, and I had a great view of Mt. Asama. Breakfast was excellent, with things I don't usually see at other business hotels: a hot sandwich maker, maitake mushroom rice, curry packed with ingredients, and Calpis at the drink bar.

It's a little dated, but it worked really well for a business stay and I was comfortable. Breakfast is included by default, which I appreciated. The hotel is about a 7-8 minute walk from Nakagomi Station on the Koumi Line, near the edge of downtown. There are plenty of restaurants, and the closest convenience store is around five minutes away. Parking beside the building and underground makes it easy to find and convenient by car.

The underground motorcycle parking is spacious, a big plus in rainy weather and for security, and I'd definitely stay again. Rooms are clean, though the facilities feel dated. The price is reasonable for what you get. Breakfast is free, with a good range of well-seasoned dishes, better than at many hotels. It'd be perfect if the bread were freshly baked.
