Yufuin Sansuikan

The room wasn’t luxurious, but the view of Yufu was stunning, maybe the best in the city. Dinner at the buffet was good, and they can arrange flowers too. Service was excellent.

The buffet food was so good! The service was good too, and the staff could speak English. Our Japanese-style room had its own toilet and shower with a small tub, so we didn’t have to share those, though the shared bathroom is a must since its facilities are better. It’s not too far from the station.

I had a couple of extra hours in Yufuin, so I bought a day pass to try the onsen without staying at the hotel. It was amazing value, with mountain views from the outdoor pools and no crowds. I loved the whole experience. If I’d known about this place earlier, I probably would have booked a night here.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and they set up our beds while we were eating. We had a wonderful family stay at Yufuin Sansuikan. Our room was quiet and clean, with sliding doors that gave the sleeping areas more privacy. Dinner was a real treat, with lots of choices, very tender Oita beef, and tasty crab legs. They kept topping up the dishes, and there was a nice range of complimentary beer and sake. The thermal baths had different temperatures and features, including jets and rooibos tea, with warmer and cooler options.
