The bedding was dirty and sticky, which made it hard to feel comfortable during my stay. When I checked out on 21 May 2025, I realized I’d left my jacket in the wardrobe and emailed the hotel right away, but still haven’t heard back. Staff at my next hotel called for me and were told nothing had been found. That’s confusing, since rooms are usually cleaned thoroughly after guests leave. With these problems, I can’t recommend the hotel right now.

The highlight of our honeymoon was staying here. We loved the clean, beautiful traditional room, and the staff communicated well and spoke great English. The food was incredible, and we enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor baths. We’ll definitely come back.

The dinner time listed on the website was 19:00, but the front desk told us to be in the dining hall at 18:00. Neither dinner nor breakfast was hot enough. Our room smelled strange, and the tatami mats weren’t clean. There were lots of flying insects outside the private bath, so we hesitated to use it, and finding insect bodies in the bathing area was pretty disgusting.

The meals were what I liked most. Every dish was delicious in its own way, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. My only complaint was that the room didn’t get warm enough. I think that was because I stayed in a Japanese-style room without a bed.
