I liked the room layout, which felt as traditional as a scene from a Japanese movie, and the onsen service deserves a mention. But the front desk staff barely speak English, and the equipment in the room all looks about 40 years old. That’s why I took off a star. I came back to remove another star after finding that the old trash hadn’t been cleared out of the bin at the end of the day. Unacceptable.

The Japanese-style room was clean, and both the room and bedding were comfortable. The hot spring was clean too, at just the right temperature, and breakfast had a delicious range of options. One thing to know: you can’t just go to the restaurant for dinner unless you’ve booked a plan that includes it. There aren’t any shops within walking distance of the facility. Even so, I’d say it’s a pretty good place to stay for the price.
