Wishton Hotel Yukari

The location is great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My main issue was the Wi-Fi, which was generally poor and especially unreliable in the evenings. The breakfast buffet didn’t have much variety and didn’t feel worth the price, and each bed had just one small, uncomfortable pillow. I’d like to come back, but the internet is a real drawback. Update: I stayed again in mid-November because the location is hard to beat. This time I had a junior suite, whereas last time I was in a regular two-bed room. There was almost no Wi-Fi reception in the room. I spoke to the front desk, and they gave me a pocket Wi-Fi machine that worked great, so the problem was solved. They probably only provide those machines in the more expensive rooms.

Although it’s rated as a 3-star hotel, I felt the service, room, food, and hospitality were at a 4-star level. The downside is that it’s far from Tokyo CBD, and road traffic is heavy. The drive takes at least 1.5 hours one way in traffic.

The hotel is actually part of the train station, which is amazing. It has two towers, and I got a room in the fully renovated one. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Malls and restaurants are nearby. My one complaint is that the in-room Wi-Fi was relatively slow.

The train is easy to get to, which was the one good thing here. The internet was terrible, and they gave another guest a key to my room. Luckily I was still dressed when they walked in.
