A hotel made from container vans? I stayed one night while visiting Ashikaga Flower Park, and it worked out great. The room was clean, check-in and checkout were easy, and each one has its own microwave, which was a fun surprise. The staff were friendly and approachable. The free meal was simple but good. I just wish there were more choices than chicken curry and fried chicken. There’s a gap between the containers, so noise from neighboring rooms doesn’t carry through. You can hear trains and other vehicles, but it was faint and didn’t really affect my sleep. It’s about a 15- to 20-minute walk from Sano Station. The stay was awesome, and I’d definitely consider coming back when I visit Tochigi again.

The in-room microwave meals were included each day, and I especially liked the curry rice. The fridge and freezer both worked well and came in handy. My wife and I found the room comfortable and spacious, and we also enjoyed the really nice massage chair after spending the day exploring the flower park. We stayed at the R9 for a short visit to town and Ashikaga wisteria park, and it was great for that.

Really good value for the money. The beds were comfortable, everything was super clean, and the service was great. We’d worried a little about sound, but had no noise problems. It is a bit far from the station if you don’t have a car.
