Holiday Inn Ana Sapporo Susukino by IHG

The room smelled bad and was unbelievably small, even by Japanese standards. A nearby hotel at a similar price had much larger rooms. Parking was extremely hard to find because the hotel has no lot of its own and relies on nearby parking facilities, which are often full in the city center. I regret booking this place for my last night in Japan.

Holiday Inn is right in the middle of Susukino, with everything we needed across the street: two Family Marts, Donki, Ramen Alley, and Susukino station, which has an elevator. The rooms are typical Japanese size, but they do the job. The downside is that there are only two wash-and-dry machines. Still, I’d recommend the hotel.

Gocho Ramen Alley is just around the corner, and Susukino Subway station is a five-minute walk away. That’s where you can take the infamous Nikka shot while in Sapporo. The staff were great, and it was a lovely stay overall. They were so nice and helpful, lending us extra plug adapters and a clear umbrella when the snowfall got a bit too much.

The hotel was quiet, the room was clean, and it had all the amenities we needed. We tried breakfast once and thought the food was great. The location put malls, restaurants, convenience stores, paid parking if you rent a car, and plenty of taxis close by. My family and I stayed from Oct 12-18. Highly recommended, and until next time.
