San Gran Hotel Sapporo Odori Park

The rooms were spacious, but the service was poor and the crew's English was bad. The hotel starts on the fourth floor of the building, so it may take a moment to find. Our bin overflowed after we put in a lot of rubbish. We left the rest beside it, but staff only cleared what was inside, leaving the other trash there. At checkout, moving a lot of luggage and two kids from the fourth floor down to the first was a struggle. The reception staff just watched us.

The rooms are roomy for the price and were clean and looked after well. You can reach Odori Subway Station Exit 12 in about a minute on foot, which is handy. There are just 56 rooms, though the hotel has a big public bath, indoor pool and gym. Service was okay, if not especially good.

Everything else was good and there wasn't much to complain about. If you're driving an MVP, parking could be a problem. Just enjoy what's there.

My triple room had three super single beds, plus a small couch and tea table, and there was plenty of room. The toilet was bigger than in a typical Japanese hotel. The location was good, and the free ice cream from 4pm to 11pm was nice. The onsen felt small, probably comfortable for six people at most. TV channels were very limited, as they are in many Japanese hotels. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos.
