Sunwest Hotel Sasebo

The hotel was very quiet, the room was a good size and very clean, and the staff were great to deal with. Breakfast was awesome, with really good opening times. Parking is limited and costs ¥1,000 a day, but I managed to get a spot each day. I booked at the last minute and got lucky, since this place seems popular. There’s plenty to do nearby, and I’ll stay again.

We were upgraded to the hotel’s largest room, which fit our group of three comfortably. It was impressive, with a luxurious bathroom, separate sinks for him and her, a separate toilet, and a small kitchenette. Breakfast had more than 40 dishes, all tempting, and the buffet was delicious. The chawanmushi and karaage chicken stood out for their quality and flavor. Booking breakfast ahead for ¥1100 was good value compared with the day-of price of ¥1300+. Parking was temporarily affected by maintenance. There was limited street parking that couldn’t be reserved, but nearby coin parking was a convenient alternative. We had a great stay, and the spacious room, good breakfast, and friendly service make this hotel easy to recommend.

On my return in Feb 2026, I had a very nice, comfortable stay in a Twin size room. The hotel has comfortable rooms and beds that let you sleep well, with a great, very friendly and helpful Staff. The tub and shower are quite small. Parking is ¥1000 per day. Small vehicles can use the tower, while larger ones need to park on the street in front. It’s a nice place to stay in the Sasebo area.

A great place, with very clean, very new rooms. The beds were more comfortable than the typical Japanese bit, not soft, but not a board.
