Business Hotel Taiyo

I was pleased with the stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting a clean place to sleep at a good price. My room and bathroom were clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the hot-water pot and green tea were ready to use. I arrived without a reservation around 11:40 PM on Friday, 2/8/13, after knowing about the hotel from an earlier trip nearby. The clerk handled things efficiently, and I paid the posted 4,410 yen including tax. A convenience store open until midnight was within a block, so I picked up beer and senbei rice crackers to snack on in the room. I didn't use the TV since it seemed to need a 1,000-yen prepaid card and I was ready for bed. In the morning I found the breakfast room, which was clean, roomy, and looked appetizing. Freshly brewed coffee was free, though I chose a bowl of soba from a noodle kiosk near Sendai Station instead. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from Sendai Station.

The front desk staff and breakfast were the best parts for me. The building itself is old, though the inside has been renovated. The room feels roomy, with a large desk, individual air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. There are power and USB outlets beside the pillow, and the refrigerator switch is easy to spot. The unit bath is on the small side, but the temperature is simple to adjust and it's easy enough to use. Works for business or sightseeing.
