The location is perfect for walking around the best parts of Sendai, and this was the widest, most comfortable capsule I’ve stayed in. You can use the sento pretty much 24 hours a day. The bed was uncomfortable, but I get that budget accommodation means compromising somewhere. I’d come back, probably for just one night. The laundry machine left my clothes really damp even after two dry cycles, so don’t use it.

The capsules are modern, with a roomy locker inside that fit my huge backpack, and the staff were kind, professional, and really helpful. It’s right in the middle of the city, about five minutes from the station and on Sendai’s big shopping street. The Onsen was amazing, too. For a couple of 100 Yen, you can leave your luggage after checkout and explore a bit more. This is by far the best capsule hotel I’ve stayed in, with a great price for such a good location. Highly recommend it. I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

For the price, this is pretty great. It’s a typical capsule hotel, and it’s men only. The pods are quite spacious, even for a non-wide capsule, but the bed padding is thin and made it hard to sleep. Temperature might be an issue, since some people may find it too cold or too hot. The Onsen was surprisingly nice for a budget place. If you have a suitcase, it’s a bit inconvenient because there isn’t a good place to store it near your capsule.

The onsen upstairs was a nice surprise, and the toilets and sinks were clean. There’s also a huge manga selection in the common room, plus plenty of shops and food options in the arcade, within walking distance of the main station. This was my first capsule hotel, and it worked out much better than a hostel or guesthouse, even if it didn’t match a regular hotel room. My capsule had a curtain, fan and light controls, a TV with earphones, and there was a small wardrobe that locked. People kept the noise down. Staff kindly helped with the Japanese-only check-in and check-out machine, and held my backpack until check-in. Shoes go in a locker by the entrance. One thing to know: tattoo rules aren’t shown until after booking, depending on the platform.
