Orange Inn Sendai Higashi

The beds were comfortable, and the price was low, so I can't complain too much. Still, the rooms were somewhat dirty, the walk from the station was rather long, and there weren't many good places to eat nearby.

Whenever I stay in Sendai, I choose this inexpensive business hotel in the city's eastern area. It's under a 10-minute walk from either nearby JR station, Nigatake or Higashi-Sendai, and getting to downtown is very easy.

The bathroom seemed to have been updated and was comfortable for a bath, though the room itself wasn't particularly new. My room was on the side away from the railway crossing, so the location beside the tracks didn't bother me. My travel companion was on the crossing side and said it was noisy. The hallway voices were loud too, perhaps from construction workers staying long-term. Since the desk was right by the door, a draft came through and chilled my feet. It's about a 10-minute walk along the road from Higashi-Sendai Station. The hotel is in a residential area with almost no shops, apart from a nearby 7-Eleven. The drainpipe seemed loose, and water leaked from the overflow pipe and sink, soaking the bath mat. Also, despite the chilly weather at the end of May, when I needed a jacket on check-in day, the building's air conditioning was set to cooling and wouldn't switch to heat. I stayed three days, and the cold mornings made it uncomfortable. There was an individual room heater, but...

With this location, free parking, and a 7-Eleven across the street, their price seems to reflect a lot of effort. It's much cheaper than the surrounding hotels. I hope they keep doing well and hold their own against the big chains. I'll stay here again!
