Washington R&B Hotel Sendai Higashiguchi

The room was spotless and quiet, and the staff were excellent. I appreciated having laundry facilities, and the complimentary coffee was really good too. I'd stay here again on my next visit to Sendai.

I had the worst hotel stay I've ever had, anywhere in the world, and absolutely don't recommend this place. Daiwa Roynet Hotel would be my choice instead. It has better amenities, excellent service, and actually friendly staff. I was trying to save a little money, but it's completely worth the extra $20-$30 per night. I've never been treated this badly at any luxury hotel, business hotel, hostel, or guesthouse. This didn't meet even the bare minimum. On checkout day, I went to get water for my bottle before leaving. A staff member ran over, yelled at me for touching the dispenser because I'd already checked out, then kept scolding me and said I shouldn't sit in the so-called lobby since it was for current guests only. I'd stayed two nights. Am I suddenly not a guest the moment I hand over my key? The same area wasn't available for sitting between 6:00 and 9:30 either. They said the open chairs were off limits because their “lobby” was only for breakfast, not actually a lobby. I hadn't even complained about this, but there were two strands of hair in the bathroom when I first entered the room. Not exactly clean.

I spent two nights here and would recommend it. The location was handy, just a three-minute walk to the subway, with convenience stores nearby. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was well maintained. The amenities were satisfactory, and the front desk staff were extremely helpful.

The room is compact, and check-in and checkout are handled with electronic machines.
