We drove here from Lake Suwa for one night near Toyota Museum, and only then realized how much history the Japanese house and Seto have. Seto is known for ceramics and pottery, and the attached shop is full of beautiful pieces by local artists. The owner took time to talk about their work with real passion. There’s parking for guests, and although the house isn’t in a main city, it’s close to undercover shopping. We love art and could see the care and thought the owners put into remodeling this lovely place. The hostel also makes its own beautiful, useful local travel guide pamphlets. Following the host’s suggestion, we went to a very local udon shop with more than 100 years of history. Such a lovely experience, and thank you for the hospitality.
