Hotel Shibukawa Hills

The bath arrangement was a hassle, which I hadn’t expected. Women can use the shared bath only one person or party at a time, and you have to book a time slot beforehand. If all the slots are taken, you’re left without a bath or shower for the night. The men’s shared bath allows several people at once, and the women’s bath is large enough to do the same. Booking.com described it as shared, which I was fine with, but didn’t mention advance reservations, so I can’t recommend this place for women. The rooms were fine overall. My non-smoking room had a faint smoke smell, but the futon and pillow were comfortable, and the sheets were clean. Breakfast was a nice buffet, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It’s also fairly close to the station. I’d picked the cheapest place I could find and wasn’t expecting much, but that bath issue was inconvenient.
