We loved the private onsen and how near the Ryokan is to the train. Walking along the narrow street out front felt a little nerve-racking, though the drivers were careful and considerate. Our Japanese-style room was comfortable and had everything we needed, from plenty of towels and toiletries to a Dyson hair dryer and a PS1. Akila-san and the rest of the staff were gracious and welcoming from our late arrival through checkout. They even greeted us with daifuku and tea when we arrived.

The meals were all delicious and left a real impression. The Komurasaki Gratin especially, I wanted more, lol. Staff were kind and polite throughout our stay, and the room’s open-air bath uses hot spring water, so we could soak whenever we wanted. Despite facing the main road, it was quiet enough to relax. At dawn, birdsong and leaves moving in the wind filled the room, which felt pretty special. We asked them to arrange a surprise cake for my boyfriend’s birthday, and they took photos that day too. It made the occasion memorable. First stay here, but I get why people return. I’ll definitely be back.

The entrance gate gives the place the feel of a hidden inn. There’s a bath in the room, and I liked the open-air one there too. They even provide mosquito coils for the open-air bath, a nice little touch.
