The view was beautiful, and the service felt genuinely caring. My friend and I got off to a rough start on our trip, and the staff stopped to check on us, then helped us work out how to get home with all our gear and luggage. The room was clean and nice, and we could control the heating and air conditioning ourselves. I’d recommend staying here for the view and the hospitality.

Ted’s advice made our day. After breakfast he came over to ask what we had planned, then suggested a park with very tall trees and a walk to Togakushi Shrine. We also stopped at Naena Falls and finished the day at an almost-private outdoor onsen. We had a lovely few nights at Nojiri Lake Resort last October, 2024. We were welcomed warmly and felt at home right away. Our room was spacious, with a lovely lake view and traditional Japanese styling; the beds were fine. Breakfast wasn’t extensive, but it was freshly made and we didn’t feel we were missing anything. Ted even cooked a delicious egg for us. Thanks so much, Ted. We’d love to return.

I’d like to come back in another season and explore more around Nojiri Lake. During our stay, we shared experiences and thoughts, and I found the owner to be a wise man. He and the staff were kind and friendly. Be a responsible traveler and keep an open mind; the rules are for people who need them.

We found plenty to enjoy around Nojiri Lake Resort: kayaking to Biwa Island at sunrise, swimming in the designated area, doing laundry, and walking to a friendly older couple’s shop for fruit, snacks, and supplies. We also ate oyakodonburi at an authentic local restaurant, biked to NLA’s campus, and walked to a neighborhood Italian restaurant. Those things brought us a comforting sense of nostalgia and joy. The room was lovely, spotless, and looked out over the gorgeous lake. It had a traditional Japanese style with a cabin-like feel, just right for us. The owner and staff were kind and knowledgeable, and helped make our stay meaningful and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and prepared with care and skill. The amenities covered everything we needed, and more. We’re grateful to the wonderful people who made our time here unforgettable. Domoarigatogozaimashita!

Ted was incredibly welcoming, and breakfast was great. I stayed four nights in early October 2025 and had a fantastic time. The room rates were very affordable, too. If I make it back to Nojiri, I’ll stay here again.
