Beautiful ocean scenery 🌊, and the hot springs make your skin beautiful. You can buy fresh fish 🐟.

What stands out most at Shirasagi, the hot spring inn in Nanki Shirahama, is the water. It comes from the inn’s own spring, feels wonderfully smooth, and leaves warmth lingering on the skin after a bath. It suits a proper hot spring cure or simply a chance to shake off everyday tiredness. The sea views are another highlight. You can watch the calm water change over time, with the blue sea and sky beyond the window. It’s a peaceful setting, and the scenery is striking enough to rival popular photo spots. The building has a nostalgic, calming feel, and the staff are polite and warm. In a popular tourist area like Shirahama, being able to enjoy the hot springs and views away from the crowds feels valuable. I’d recommend Shirasagi to anyone wanting to refresh their mind and body or share some quiet time with someone special.

The kamameshi was really tasty, with a mild, gentle flavor. Since it takes 30-40 minutes to cook, I called ahead to reserve it for lunch. Everyone working there was smiling and welcoming. I’d like to come back and stay overnight next time.

The hot spring water felt slippery on my skin, and I think it could be good for eczema or atopic dermatitis. The building is definitely old, very Showa-era, but the warmth of the proprietress and staff made the visit feel special. I’d be happy to go back if I get the chance.

The inn’s rooms are mostly Japanese-style, with ocean and greenery views from the windows that made me feel refreshed. Meals focus on Japanese cooking with fresh local seafood and seasonal ingredients, the comforting sort of food you hope for at a hot spring inn. Set quietly along the coast in Tsubaki Onsen in Nanki-Shirahama, Shirasagi Hot Springs is a peaceful place to slow down and enjoy the surrounding nature. The spring water comes straight from the source and feels gentle on the skin. They also offer day visits and longer stays, which makes it easy to spend time unwinding here.
