Minoshirakawa Golf Club

We had piping hot mapo tofu cooked in a stone pot for lunch. The course was beautiful, though a little crowded, and it has the famous heart-shaped green. There's also a lodge if you want to stay overnight and play golf.

The course is still challenging, with single greens, and every hole was in good shape. The extra charges are not too high, which helps, though there seem to be fewer free lunch choices now. I miss the free breakfast that used to be included before the pandemic, along with several other things that have been cut. The drive from northern Nagoya takes about an hour and a half, and there's no highway to save time. The narrow mountain road near the end is pretty scary, like an accident could happen. Updated September 2025: The menu has changed a little. Burdock tempura udon sounds nice for colder weather, and the fried tofu in the chilled tanuki soba was cut into long, thin strips.

We came back in 2023, and I still want to stay here every year. This time we grilled yakiniku in our room on a muen roaster, which was great. On an overnight trip, you can fit in two rounds of golf, then have a barbecue with friends and play mahjong. The course is in good shape and the greens are fast. Alcohol, juice, and ice are provided too. The all-inclusive price of 28,000 yen is an incredible deal. I highly recommend the one-night stay with two rounds. Oh, and I even saw a raccoon!

The course was in immaculate shape, just as other reviews say. It didn't seem cramped, and most holes were straight on fairly level ground. There are bronze statues of the Seven Lucky Gods, plus a heart-shaped green.
