It’s a shame, because the owner was so friendly and helpful. The room had its own toilet and bathroom, which was convenient, and it looked clean at first. But there were lots of long hairs on the carpet, which was disgusting. There were cushions, maybe zabuton, but they looked dirty and I didn’t want to sit on them. The sheets had been washed, but I wasn’t sure about the duvet cover and didn’t want to use it.

It was close to midnight when I arrived, and I got a very warm welcome. The place feels like a private house turned into a pension. Each room has a key, but you need to keep your voice down so you don’t disturb anyone. There aren’t restaurants nearby, so plan to bring food from a convenience store or somewhere similar. Getting around without a car is inconvenient, and the roads can be difficult to find. There’s an air conditioner for cooling and a stove for heat. The timer switches the heater off after about three hours, which could be tough if you feel the cold.

They were very helpful when my plans changed suddenly. I checked in late at night and checked out early in the morning, an unusual schedule, but they accommodated the changes.

For the price, the room felt small, and I wasn’t happy with the shared bathroom and shower. Getting around without a car was also difficult, especially for foreign tourists.
