Haru's House

(Aug 2023) The garden was full of flowers, which made everything feel bright and cheerful, and I also enjoyed having hot spring water for a bath by myself. This is a quiet, peaceful place in a rural village. The house is old, but the inside is well kept, and it had an impressive range of spices, even salt and mustard sauce that I hadn't expected. There was air conditioning and a circulator, so it stayed cool during the hot summer. There isn't a supermarket nearby, and the restaurants close early, which was a bit disappointing. A 24-hour convenience store can cover some of that. Also, there's a restaurant called ton ton about 10 minutes away that's open until 8 pm. The owner runs it alone, but the food is really tasty and generous. ❤️

We were very satisfied with the place, and I'd definitely come back. The kitchen dishes were spotless, and cooking our own meals each day worked out really well. There were more beds than our family of five needed. The bathroom was bigger than I expected, with room for all five of us, and a tub big enough for two adults and two kids. The Airbnb photos should show it better. The house has a nice local feel, though there aren't many shops nearby. A couple of things needed attention. The washing machine's water tap was shut, so it didn't fill properly and showed an error. I didn't notice until later, which was a real inconvenience. The drying rack was also broken, and I needed somewhere to hang bath towels since I bathe every day. There's a nearby highway, and I noticed the noise when the door was open. Depending on the wind, there was also a strong organic fertilizer smell, but only on the first night. The underfloor heating runs on hot spring water and is controlled from the bathroom. It was warm during Golden Week, so we didn't use it. The floor heating was plenty, though, and for some reason there was a sheep nearby (lol). I left an X-Gyro there, so please use it. If you cook, Sasaki Suisan is a great option, just a five-minute drive away. To see wild deer, try Haginosato Nature Park. I went twice during Golden Week and saw them both times.

This was my first moor hot spring♨️. The water felt so good, and left my skin feeling soft and moisturized.

I had a lovely time at the hot springs, though it took me a while to find them.
