The house was messy, with leftover rubbish still inside, and the expensive cleaning fee hadn't been disclosed before booking. They gave us the wrong numeric code, leaving us to guess the combination in a freezing blizzard. There was a strong kerosene smell throughout our stay. The location is bad, with the nearest convenience store 3 km away. Don't come unless you're driving. Not impressed.

It's a pleasant place to stay, with a nice onsen. The location is isolated, so bring some groceries, though there are a few restaurants nearby.

For a rental villa, I thought the price was a bargain. The view was lovely, the spring water was great, and the place was very comfortable. In winter my feet get cold, so a fan heater just for that area, maybe in the changing room, would make it even cosier. Otherwise, I was very comfortable and would love to come back. Looking forward to next time!

We were very happy with the open-air bath, which looked just like it did on Instagram. At night we gazed up at the stars from the bath, and in the morning we relaxed there listening to the waves. For breakfast, we had Kojohama cod roe that we'd bought the day before. Our family stopped here for a night on the way home to visit our hometowns over New Year's. Some reviews said the building seemed old, but I found it clean and didn't mind its age. My one small wish is that there had been enough mattresses for everyone. We'd definitely stay again if we get the chance.
