There’s plenty of room indoors, and the hot spring water is used inside and out for bathing, washing dishes, and everything else. Soaking in the morning and again before bed seemed to ease my dry skin and help me sleep. It’s a very nice place to stay, though there’s only one toilet and one bathing area. I’d say 3-4 people would have a great time here; larger groups may find that limiting.

The view is lovely, and being right by the sea means you can enjoy the open-air bath. The water flows straight into the beautiful hot spring bath, and I think Kojohama has some of the best water quality in Hokkaido. I had a really luxurious, relaxing stay. There’s a Seicomart close by, but it doesn’t stay open all night, so you can’t shop there in the middle of the night.
